Moved to the UK from Capetown SA when i was 7, gradually built up a passion for music, art & film and have been playing music semi-pro for 11 years now. I love making icons, using photoshop for editing (at total noobish level tho haha) and have acquired a very good eye for getting the best contrast, brightness and shadow ratio's.

Haha no worries man Thanks for the warm welcome! You really deserve more llama's tbh as you make incredibly awesome icons dude.

I ALWAYS download yours now, as you seem to get such a good HD picture with really vibrant colors, nice one and thanks for sharing, would be stuck with horrible round ones or stock if it werent for you! LOL I take it you do a little contrast/brightness editing before proceeding with the icon making? =] The colors are alot deeper on yours than many others - (Awesome dude)

Don't suppose you could maybe do this picture (and maybe the other 'hardcore' posters) of Settlers 7 - Paths to a kingdom: here [link]
- This is actually my own attempt. I kinda went for the simple box edge keeping in with the only good 'stock' icons such as Deus Ex or WRC2.

What do you think of it? LOL I really want to know how to get different edges and then finally make it into a png (from a jpg). I usually use jpg's but try to find png's if i can. Then i use a simple program (total image converter) to convert them to 256 ico's. Done this with all my movies, games (if i cant find any of yours ;]) and tv shows etc, and i've also tried this new one iconfx but its quite a frustrating program (lots of hidden options etc). What do you use?

Llama's? i don't care much for them, but if someone send me one i send one back.

Thanks for getting all of the icons. and yes i do some editing when i see fit. contrast, exposure, vibrance and such.

I already made one for the Settlers 7 but it was the cartoony boxart. I will make another one using your pic with a smaller logo.

Usually i use png because jpg's got artifacts when you look good at the pic. As for conversions to ico and icns(mac) i use IcoFX1.6 using the batch tool and for the ico's i use ToyCon. The programs are all freeware.

No worries dude, DeviantArt is a nice place though i have to admit, The Llama thing just makes it a bit cooler by letting people show they're appreciation.

I thought you did that man, you must have a really good eye for it as they all look mint mate..

Thanks for doing the Settlers 7 icon man, much appreciated... I think there is actually a few more but the one i did definitely has the the most appeal for me anyway.

About the Png's thanks for enlightening me on this, i have been using Jpg's for a while when doing movie icons and TV yet they all have something slighlty 'off' about them.

Would you reccomend converting to PNG before i do my last conversion to ICO or should i go for a PNG source?

I also IcoFX too, just haven't really tried to get into properly yet. So is that where you produce all your custom 'icon edges' by that i mean the left corner pointed and the three others rounded?

Guess i'll tinker about with it...

Thanks dude

Oh yeah here is a few of my Final Desktop Experiments if you want to have a look man:

Cheers dude...
